Summer Love Hansen

Ask your heart: "What can I do to bring more love into the world, into this very moment?" And when the answers come into your heart and mind-- Do Them!

This is the philosophy Summer expounds and lives by. Summer is the creator and facilitator of The Be Community Friendly! Campaign for Children's DayChildren’s Day USA.

She also created, promoted, and conducted twenty seven seminars between l982 & l987. Her favorite creation was the all day Family Experience for children and parents. The other two venues were a Joy Workshop and The Romance Experience. These events were held in community halls, churches, beautiful outdoor settings, and private homes.

Summer's activities are varied. She has authored seminar outlines, poetry, tapes, and two books "Romance for Pennies Love Always" and "Be Community Friendly Campaign for Children's Day" are nearing completion. When her children were young she was the founder and organizer of two parent participation nursery schools, followed by a range of community and humanitarian projects, and involvement in ecology groups.

Children, our environment, community action, and loving and encouraging others are her true & deep commitments.

Summer is the mother of three beautiful and bright adult children: Marilyn, Carolyn and Jim! Being a mother and "Love" were what she wanted most to experience in Life. Motherhood was her favorite project. She says, "It was like having a party every day!" They were wonderful children. Summer was married in those days. They had a great family, and she was blessed by being able to be a full time homemaker. It made being a mother easy!

Environmental & Community Action are two of her serious passions: She started the first recycling center in Cerritos, California, along with an environmental action group, which evolved into a chapter of the Sierra Club. She initiated the creation of bike paths in Newark, California. She played a key role in founding the California Heights Action Group (CHAG), Long Beach's most effective neighborhood group from 1980 to 1990. In April of 1993, she initiated the formation of the North Long Beach Community Action Group as she wanted to stimulate action for the crying needs of that community which she loved as their flower lady.

Children and future generations are her prime concern & focus these days. In 1980 she conducted high school peer counseling groups. Her current project (1993-to present) is creating Children's Day as an annual town day in Long Beach California and inspiring Children's Day to be everywhere, along with a Campaign for Great Parenting with support for Education and Good Citizenship. "It is the most important thing in my life!" The Children’s Day Theme: "What are you going to do to make our world a better place?" is the same every year. The Children's Day Musical is also a dream for the future. All this is sponsored by Be Community Friendly!™ non profit organization. In 2002 Sharon Brady from gave/donated the Trademark of Children’s Day USA to Summer..

She is a native Southern Californian. She was born and raised in a beach town as one of three children. Her father came from Kentucky and her mother from Oklahoma to escape the Great Depression. Her father's influence was one of gentle Southern tradition, her mother's one of practicality and common sense.

Adversity, mistakes, sadness, and the struggles that go along with being human have of course been a part of her life. But having loving constructive thought, constructive words, and constructive action is what she strives to live by. Summer loves people. She is a person who looks for the good, a person who believes in the creativity, Love, and inner beauty of us all, and encourages you and everyone to develop their Loving creative potential.
